TILA Tiered Re-Engagement Strategies

TILA Tiered Re-Engagement Strategies

The following tiered re-engagement strategies apply to all students who are not generating attendance for more than three school days or 60 percent of the instructional days in a school week, or who are in violation of the student’s written agreement:
  1. Teacher contacts the student’s parent or guardian via internet or telephonic communication involving live, two-way communication to discuss ways to support the student.
  2. Additional academic support via in-person, internet or telephonic instruction via classified or certificated staff.
  3. Independent study administrator requests a meeting with the teacher, parent or guardian, and student.
  4. The Director of Student Services and the Truancy Officer make a home visit to discuss ways to support the student.
  5. Referral to a counselor or social worker for social emotional support.
